AUDITION INFO
ROUND ONE - VIRTUAL AUDITIONS
The Virtual Audition Requirements for High School Musical are as follows;
1. Slate (1 minute long): Introduce yourself, let us know which characters you’re interested in and why, and share why you want to be part of the show.
2. A song excerpt from the show: Choose a song from High School Musical that suits the character you’re interested in and perform a 1-minute excerpt. (See cuts below in character breakdowns)
3. A song excerpt not from the show: Pick a song that fits the overall vibe of the musical, and perform a 1 to 1.5-minute excerpt.
You can perform all songs with or without a backing track. Backing tracks and sheet
music for each cut is supplied in the character breakdown section below
ROUND TWO - IN-PERSON CALLBACKS
If you’re selected for callbacks, you’ll be asked to take part in the following:

1. Song Call: Work on duets and solos, for 1 or 2 characters.
We’ll send you specific songs and further details once you’re successful in securing a callback.
2. Dance Call: You’ll need to learn a quick dance piece and show us your movement skills. This will be done live at the callbacks.
Callbacks will be held on Sunday the 6th of April, time and location will be shared with those successful in attaining a callback.
Not all roles require a callback - you may get a role offer straight away!
Note: for Sharpay you must submit the 2 audition songs + your own choice (3 songs)

Be part of High School Musical: The Musical at the Chippen St Theatre from the 3rd to the 12th of October 2025!

With 42 rehearsals held on Tuesdays and Saturdays, our cast will be fully prepared for six exciting shows that bring the energy and charm of East High to life.
​
We are thrilled to announce double casting for this production, allowing everyone the chance to play both a major and a minor role, where possible. This gives all participants the opportunity to showcase their talents and be involved in every performance! The final double-cast roles will be revealed in the cast announcement in April.
​
Participation costs $300 per person, plus a $100 costume fee to help us cover all production expenses. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a dynamic community theatre experience and bring the beloved characters of High School Musical to the stage. We can’t wait to see you shine!
